CEDIA Australasia announces new board of directors and executive board
Sydney, 8 November, 2006: Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Australasia today announced its new board of directors and the new executive board, who will provide strategic council for CEDIA's industry activities in 2006/2007.
Together, the newly introduced members represent a wide spectrum of the Australian CI industry, which will help ensure a perfect mix of valuable and diverse industry knowledge in the strategic decision making process.
"It is crucial for CEDIA as an association to provide the best possible advice to its members, and it is the board's role to do so", said Stephen Miller, General Manager of CEDIA Australasia. "Just like with any association that grows as quickly as we do, the board needs to make lots of big decisions. I feel very confident that our new board members will manage this responsibility well, guaranteeing the best possible outcomes." Miller continued.
Some of the main responsibilities that will face the new board in 2006/2007 include keeping the CEDIA education courses top-of-mind for the ever growing membership base. The importance of the certification courses was recently confirmed by the launch of CEDIA's education centre in Sydney, which all CEDIA members can gain access to for the education of their staff.
Another key area includes the yearly CEDIA Expo in Gold Coast, which brings the entire CI industry together for a three day combined product/service display, and knowledge sharing workshop. The board will also continue the education around the 'fourth trade' initiative, which aims to bring together the four crucial contractors involved in the residential design/build process. CEDIA members include residential electronics systems professionals who have emerged as the "fourth contractor" in the building and remodelling industries; as well as electrical, plumbing and HVACprofessionals.
"The 'fourth trade' remains a strong focus area for CEDIA globally this year and our dedication to this will be demonstrated through the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Expo in Las Vegas in April", said Miller. "We need to ensure a seamless integration with the other contractors to ensure the best possible customer experience to the end user, this will be the sole purpose of this new Expo," he continued.
The new board members can look forward to a brand new boardroom in CEDIA Australasia's head office in Sydney. When CEDIA's headquarter was refurbished for the new education centre the boardroom also had a makeover, now housing the latest in audio visual technology to facilitate interstate and international conferencing.
