NAHB and CEDIA Join Forces to Connect Builders and Electronic Systems Contractors through The Home Technology Alliance

Unprecedented agreement delivers education, products, and services helping builders meet increased consumer demand related to residential technologies

LAS VEGAS (April 19, 2007) — Consumers are hooked on technology in the home, and market tracking data indicates that home technology installations will increase 20 percent to $9.6 billion by year’s end.1*

During the 2006-2007 NAHB’s Institute of Residential Marketing research project sponsored by CEDIA, NAHB and CEDIA concluded that strengthening their relationship will be beneficial to their respective memberships, the industry and consumers.

This unprecedented agreement between NAHB and CEDIA has given birth to a new program within NAHB’s Custom Home Builders Committee—The Home Technology Alliance. This never-before seen focus on home technology integration will communicate the benefits of partnering with CEDIA Members and demonstrate the opportunities for providing better service to homeowners regarding technology.

Executives from both organizations were on hand to make the announcement at CEDIA’s Electronic Lifestyles® EXPO held this week in Las Vegas.
