Course Summary
The Audio & Video Setup and Calibration practical theory course is part of CEDIA Education Electronic System Technician (EST) curriculum. The purpose of the Video section is to educate participants on current display technologies, describe their resolution and contrast ratio and explain their compatibility with standard driver sources. This course instructs participants on display mounting considerations and techniques including power, wiring, safety precautions, height, viewing angle, and component neatness. Topics include how to account for human and environmental factors impacting the design and placement of video displays and creative solutions to challenging video display situations.
The purpose of the Audio section is to educate participants on current audio technologies and formats. It will explain how audio signals are created and reproduced including analog and digital formats and surround sound technologies. It will also offer instruction on loudspeaker basics, room acoustics and distributed audio systems.
