Course Summary
This three-hour course is designed to introduce future technicians to the basic components and configurations of electronic subsystems, as well as design flaws and corrective actions. 
The course will introduce participants to the following subsystems;
  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
  • Lighting Control
  • Security
  • Entertainment (Audio and Video)
  • Communications
The course includes information about integrating and interfacing with subsystems. It also covers issues regarding safety and codes for each of the subsystems.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Recognize basic residential subsystems.
  • Outline the major components and configurations of these subsystems. 
  • Describe how to integrate the multiple subsystems with centralized control devices.
  • Specify the options available to control the subsystems as stand alone and in conjunction with other home subsystems.
